STYLES OF DANCE

Intro to Dance [Age 2]

A fun and playful class where 2-year-olds explore movement, music, and imagination through dance!

Kinder Dance [Ages 3-4]

Designed for children ages 3–4, this introductory class helps develop rhythm, balance, and coordination. Basic jazz and ballet fundamentals are taught in a fun and engaging way.

Acrobatics [ages 5+]

A fusion of dance and gymnastics, this class focuses on developing acrobatic and gymnastic skills with a strong emphasis on strength and flexibility.

Ballet [Ages 5+]

Taught using the Royal Academy of Dance method, our ballet classes enhance poise, grace, and balance. Ballet provides the essential technical foundation for all dance styles. Anyone interested in pursuing dance at a competitive level MUST take ballet classes.

Hip Hop [Ages 5+]

A high-energy class that boosts physical fitness, rhythm, and self-confidence. Dance to the latest music and master the moves you see in today’s music videos!

Jazz [Ages 5+]

An energetic class focused on improving technique, stamina, and flexibility. Students explore a variety of jazz styles, from contemporary to funk.

Tap [Ages 5+]

This class enhances musicality, rhythm, and precision. Students will learn tap technique, terminology, and explore various tap styles.

Lyrical [Ages 9+]

A blend of ballet’s elegance and jazz’s strength, this class develops control, balance, and emotional expression through musical interpretation.

Recreational Dance Program

Our recreational program offers fun, structured dance classes in jazz, hip hop, ballet, tap, acro, and lyrical. Dancers build skills, confidence, and creativity while preparing for an exciting year-end performance.

Maureen Morkill

Maureen has proudly owned and directed The Dance Corps since 2001. Born and raised in the Greater Toronto Area, she had the privilege of training with many of Canada’s most respected dance educators. Maureen excelled in acrobatics and was honored with a rare opportunity to train with the world-renowned Cirque du Soleil.”

Her competitive dance career took her across Canada and the United States, earning numerous accolades along the way. Under her leadership, students at The Dance Corps have consistently achieved top honors at both regional and national competitions, establishing a strong reputation on the competitive dance circuit.

Maureen’s dancers have also gone on to enjoy professional success, performing with esteemed organizations such as Disney Cruise Line, Royal Caribbean, and Ballet Hagen in Germany.

A certified national examiner and proud member of Dance Masters of America, Maureen is a highly sought-after judge, choreographer, and master class instructor. She is committed to continual growth, regularly attending conventions and workshops to stay inspired and up to date in her craft.

Maureen is especially proud to work alongside many of her former students, now faculty members at TDC, and takes great pride in the vibrant, supportive community they’ve built together.

Save The Date!! The TDC Fundraising Team is hosting Pub Night on February 28th at Drake a Firkin Pub. All money raised will go towards supporting our competitive team at their National competition in Orlando, Florida this summer. The evening will include: - Pub Night Bites - Dessert - Games/Raffles - A Silent Auction - A Live DJ It is going to be an incredibly fun night that you do not want to miss out on.
